3A state swimming: Countryside’s Ellis nabs three golds
Nov 13th

Matt Ellis with his gold medal for winning the 50 yard free during finals of FHSAA 3A state swimming and diving.

The Countryside High junior’s only strategy Saturday in the 50-yard freestyle was to go out as fast as he could. Ellis got the best start. Others were close. They all reached the finish as if carried by one large wave. More >

They came, they saw, they watched, then they watched some more.
And some more.
And some more.
But never once, despite a cavalcade of mad scrambles by Boca Ciega quarterback Shaquille Bradford, did the Countryside defensive backs ever let a wide receiver get behind them. More >

Boca Ciega 20
The voice of Countryside first-year coach Jared Davis was cracking by the conclusion of the Cougars’ 21-20 opening-day victory over Boca Ciega, undoubtedly the result of too-many-to-count broken tackles by Pirates quarterback Shaquille Bradford. More >
Countryside, Moore lay it all on the line this season
Sep 2nd
The wind swirled around the stadium, carrying the first signs of winter. The Class 5A region final was played in a steady rain on a sloppy field Dec. 4 against defending state champion Plant. Mud was smeared across uniforms, and no players were muddier than the offensive linemen, who wear turf and sweat as badges of honor.
